Visual Ancestry was created on the idea that our ancestors are more than just a name. With a love for family history, my passion over the past several years has been finding ways to create deeper and more meaningful connections with our ancestors.

As I began to dive into my own personal history, I found myself getting confused. As the number of ancestors exponentially increased with each generation, I couldn't keep track of all the names and stories. I felt like I wasn't truly connecting with my ancestors in the ways I wanted to.

I decided to create a fan-chart that would go beyond the black and white charts I was limited to. It had to not only help me understand and appreciate my heritage, but get my family interested in that heritage as well. That Christmas I created the first custom fan chart, displaying 5 generations of my family. I gave it to my parents for Christmas and it now hangs on their wall.

After repeated requests to make custom family history images for other people I decided to establish Visual Ancestry, a marketplace dedicated specifically to promoting family history through stunning visuals. We will be adding more products to the store and exploring new ways of connecting individuals to their ancestors.
